Fighting giant stag beetle

Scientific Name : Hexarthrius nigritus Lacroix
Structural haracteristics : There is a fighting giant stag beetle that is only found in Khao Yai National Park. Both sexes are completely black. The male has a strong mandible separating into prongs. The carapace is smooth. The antennae are bent or geniculate, and form 5 segments at the tip. The female is similar to the male but the mandible is smaller. The plate covering the head comes slightly in front of the eyes. The male is 48-80mm and the female 38-41mm
Where to find them : Any light source at night which attracts insects. If you are lucky you will find this unique variant of beetle.

Orange Oakleaf

Scientific Name : Kallima inachus
Structural haracteristics : This butterfly has the distinctive feature of resembling a dry leaf with its wings closed. Under both wings is a brown strip that looks like the midrib of a leaf, giving it excellent camouflage. The top of the wings are blue with an orange strip. Antennae are dark brown. It can be found in rain forest or deciduous forest, but not very often.

Scientific Name : Polyura delphis delphis
Structural haracteristics : his butterfly flies like a horse jumping, very fast. It lives in deep forest and likes to drink water in streams, salt licks, carcasses or animal dung. It is not frequently found.
